I'm working on my portfolio this weekend. I need to quit my job as soon as possible. Peter just anounced last week that he is resigning at the end of the month. To quote one of my heroes, Jim Cramer, "When high level people at a company quit, something is very wrong." Peter is really the only design-oriented person at the office. Without him around, my fate is sealed as CAD manager and fast food whore. Now my need to quit has been upgraded to "urgent!"
I feel kind of bad for my boss though. He is going to be royally screwed after all of us leave. It's really his own fault though. Since I've started there, several people have quit and he has completely refused to hire anyone to replace them. When I started, there were 12 people working under him. Now, only one year later, there will only be 6 people after I leave. He getting frustrated because he's getting to the point where he has to refuse work because we don't have the manpower to do any of the jobs. For some reason, he doesn't understand that when people quit, they need to be replaced.
On the plus side, my portfolio is totally looking awesome! I can hardly wait for the thrill and the excitement of the job hunt again! I'm already starting a hit list of company's to target! This will be great!
I got the new System of a Down CD in the mail yesterday. It's really cool and the case interlocks with the Mesmerize case too, which is neat.
Getting excited about going home for Thanksgiving too. Living in a cold house is frustrating.
