Illuminating.

The prison facility suddenly went dark. All the humming, ceased. The cameras in her cell quietly whirred into locked, forward positions.

Thunder rumbled outside.

Hecate Daemon stood up, narrowing her eyes in the dark. The red light on her restraints being the only light in the darkness of the room they kept her in, and even then, the damnable thing flashed, so it didn't make for much of a useful flashlight, even then. "Odd. Why hasn't the back-up generator come on yet?"

Another voice, a male, responded. "It's because we do not wish it to, Miss Daemon."

Hecate, in a rare occurance.jumped slightly. Only one of the lights came back on, via a remote control the fellow was carrying.

He was tall. Somewhat thin, wearing a dark, dark red suit with a gold pin on one side. And dark glasses that made his eyes unreadable.

"Who are you, boy? And how did you get in here? I Authorized no visitors." Hecate narrowed her eyes.

"That, Miss Daemon, is one of my trade secrets." He responded, in a cool monotone. "Nonetheless, I am here to speak with you on the matter of your release."

"If you're from another black operations section of the United States Military, you can tell your keepers where they can stick their deal, boy. I bow to no man." Hecate turned and sat down on the bench built into the wall of her cell, folding her arms over her chest (and part of the device secured around her torso, the red light ever blinking).

He chuckled. A disturbingly even sound, as he stepped forward and shifted his weight. "I think, Miss Daemon, you're hitting a foul game, tonight." His pin glinted in the light.

And it caught Hecate's eye. She shifted to see it better. Wasn't that...?

"We are very interested in you, Miss Daemon. Keeping that kind of secret from us says something, and what a secret it was. Hecate Daemon, the Black Kaiser? None of us knew, or even suspected."

Hecate narrowed her eyes, but let him go on.

"An impressive feat, I must admit." He smiled, but kept speaking in that monotone voice.

"I won't become a slave to your organization either, boy. However, you've piqued my interest. Speak your terms."

"We will get you released, clear your name, and attempt to remove any physical connection that exists between yourself and your Black Kaiser persona. You will also be restored to the rank that your father held prior to his death."

Hecate narrowed her eyes again, and stood back up. "And what is it you want in return?"

"One favor. At any point, as either Hecate Daemon or the Black Kaiser, you will do something for us."

"..And what, pray tell, is this favor?"

"I do not know. I was not given that information, and even then, I believe it's more of a case of that this favor will come later."

"I see." Hecate was mulling this over.

"You do not have to answer now, Ms. Daemon. I will be back in three days to find out your response." He clicked the remote, and lighting flashed outside the window, followed by a boom of thunder. A pop, and loud humm, and the lights came back online.

Like he was never there.

It started to rain, outside. A downpour.
