#26 - Forever
Living forever did have its benefits, James admitted, gasping as Jack swallowed his cock with that particularly wicked twist of tongue he was so good at; especially since the pirate had discovered a way to immortality that excluded all the messy, skeletal side effects.
#27 - Blood
“Don’t come closer,” James warned, drawn irresistibly to the blood he could feel pulsing just beneath the surface of Jack's skin; the pirate seemed set to disobey him and he snarled helplessly, lips drawing up to reveal razor-sharp fangs, “just… don’t.”
#28 - Sickness
Flushed, feverish and distinctly miserable, James sneezed, slumping back into the pillows and feeling abjectly, irrationally grateful for the soothing motion of Jack’s hands as the pirate took advantage of his indisposition to braid assorted strings of beads and feathers into his hair.
#29 - Melody
James closed his eyes and listened to the sea singing - beautiful, wild melodies that had caught his heart long ago, as irresistible as any siren or pirate-captain could ever be.
#30 - Star
“That one,” Jack answered, pointing James to an infinitely distant twinkle in the night sky - “that was my home once; just like this one’s my home now, savvy?”
#31 - Home
James’ furious objections to being kidnapped vanished like dust in the wind as Jack beamed at him, sunshine bright, and the Black Pearl whispered to him welcome home in the language of wind-on-sails.
#32 - Confusion
James didn’t understand, and said so, but Jack just grinned a crazy, piratical grin at him, and the once-Commodore found himself going along with the plan despite his confusion.
#33 - Fear
Jack builds a defensive babble of verbal misdirection between himself and danger, talking in circles until even he can’t think straight; James doesn’t talk, he just wraps himself up in his Commodore-mask and does whatever’s needed, fear not even a possibility until they’re both safe again.
#34 - Lightning/Thunder
This is Jack’s element - roar of sea and wind and water - and James thinks, as he often does with Sparrow, that one doesn’t need to be knocked overboard to drown when one can stand too close to the man and fall just as surely.
#35 - Bonds
“With these chains, I thee wed,” James murmurs, his green eyes dark and possessive as he closes the handcuffs around Jack’s wrists.
#36 - Market
James knew Jack was a bad influence long before he found himself lifting a purse from a passing merchant, but - as the pirate beamed and sparkled, proud teacher and delighted lover all in one - he couldn’t bring himself to regret it.
#37 - Technology
“Don’t touch that,” James said sharply, as Jack poked curiously at the bright red button marked ‘self-destruct’, starting a countdown flashing on the main screen - “I haven’t worked out how to turn it off yet.”
#38 - Gift
James tugs the bow from Jack’s hair and sets himself to unwrapping his present layer by layer, the pirate wriggling and laughing under his hands as clothes come off and away and clever fingers that trail over his skin leave searing patterns of arousal in their wake.
#39 - Smile
“Pirate,” Jack accused teasingly, just to see James smile again and bask in the sunshine of it.
#40 - Innocence
He’s innocent, this time; Jack doesn’t expect the Commodore to take the word of a pirate, but he tells him anyway, and maybe the world’s changed on him without notice because Norrington’s answering smirk - more amused than sardonic - says he already knows.
#41 - Completion
James hadn’t known the empty place inside him was Sparrow-shaped, so it came as a complete surprise when the pirate fitted himself into it like the final piece of a puzzle and refused to leave.
#42 - Clouds
James dropped to his knees beside Jack’s headless body, dragging the pirate’s shirt up and stroking his hands over familiar, scar-marked skin - it took only moments before Jack gasped, his head out of the clouds and back on its neck where it belonged, enjoying the sensation.
#43 - Sky
James is falling, air whistling past him, the ground spinning closer, and when he meets it he’s going to die, he knows - but Jack kisses him and James forgets the sky, forgets the ground and hitting it and everything but the pressure of piratical lips against his, breathing laughter into his mouth.
#44 - Heaven
The pirate looks around with an air of baffled astonishment, and James smiles indulgently, laughing, because of course Jack’s here - it wouldn’t be heaven without him.
#45 - Hell
“Once you’ve finished that,” James says sweetly, as Jack stares in abject horror at the foot-high piles of paperwork covering the desk, “we can have sex.”
#46 - Sun
Sun pools golden on Jack’s skin, warm and bright and patterned with shadows where James’ hands block the light - moving with easy familiarity over the pirate’s body, coaxing him into slow, sleepy pleasure and an inevitable climax, that leaves him all but melted into the sand.
#47 - Moon
Jack watched silently as the Commodore spread incandescently white wings and took flight over the ocean; the moonlight shows us for what we really are, he remembered, and hadn’t he always known, somewhere deep down inside, that his James was an angel?
#48 - Waves
It’s the sound of the waves washing against the hull of the Pearl that finally convince Jack he’s home; James’ heartbeat steady against his ear as he sleeps an optional, though much cherished, bonus.
#49 - Hair
“That would be the icing sugar,” James said unsympathetically, in response to Jack’s late-middle-age crisis and panicked complaints about his hair turning white - “maybe if you tried washing it more than once a year….”
#50 - Supernova
“Bang,” Jack explained cheerfully, flinging his hands out as if to indicate the world in general - “big bang, savvy?”
