So. I have a dreamwidth account! It occurrs to me that perhaps I should mention this here, and not just on dreamwidth.

So far I haven't done anything with it but stare at it in gleeful delight and copy over my lj, but I'm convinced it's going to be brilliant.

Worked just fine. So now I have myself a registered dreamwidth account. Will have to play around with that as soon as I have the time. Probably this weekend :-)

I'm a out of the loop with LJ, but now where I have the time to play again, suddenly there is Dreamwidth. I'm curious, do you think Fandom will really move completly over there?

Certainly not completely - fandom being made up of so many people that inevitably there will be some who don't want to move. We're comfortable where we are, so most of us won't be going anywhere, probably, unless livejournal does something really stupid (and they will, I expect, because they're owned by people who want to make a profit and will try to find ways to so, and I don't think they really understand fandom).

I do think, though, that Dreamwidth is going to do practically everything better than lj.
Comment limits are much higher (I've seen people on lj spontaneously writing fic in comments and having to break it up into three or four or five pieces - this won't be a problem). You can upload several user-pics at once, rather than doing them all one by one (not something that matters to me, but neat). The friends list has been split so that the people whose journals you want to read is no longer the same as the people you trust to read your locked posts.
