Ahhhh
NYU tortures me.
So this year I decided I would be conscientious and apply for work study jobs as early as possible. I hate doing this, but I did, and I got an interview with the woman in charge of the Post Production Center in Tisch. Only $8 an hour, but it's school schedule and whatever which is convenient. So I go in and meet with her, and she's like, "Oh, you really have to be reliable, blah blah blah, and there's a lot of competition etc." So I left thinking, "Well, I won't be down here for a while to check in with her so I probably won't get it. BUT a few days later she hired me!
So she says to go in OR call her, and I call to set up my schedule, and she's like "Umm...have we met?" Now, I decide to let this slide because, you know she's busy. Then she says I HAVE to come in, which is a pain, but okay. So I make that appointment. I show up ten minutes early. I wait. And I wait. And she ISN'T THERE. So I call, and she had an emergency, had to run out, etc. And she's saying how sorry she is, so I'm like, "Okay, I'll just write my hours preference here on my schedule and stick it under the door." She says great, end of story.
Now I know she said I had to come in then because she was going on vacation. But I didn't hear from her for a while. Now I send her an email today saying, "Hi, can I have my schedule please?" And the response? "Oh...I see that I hired you by the email below, but you're not on the schedule, so you'll have to come in immediately if you still want the job."
WHAT THE HELL?! "You need to be reliable, conscientious to work here." Ummmm, clearly not the case. I'm about to say screw it and I'll work hostessing at a restaurant for double the wage. This woman is just unreal. I can already see the drama that will come of actually getting paid. GAHHHHH!
