Little Miss 1655

Over the course of my senior year in high school, I had an abundance of people giving me lots of advice. Teachers, parents, older friends, and even a few get-ready-for-college-type pamphlets that come with all your senior/college stuff.

Now that I'm older and wiser and all traveled and such, I realize one thing: that I didn't listen to a damned single word of any of it.

After catching myself dispensing some of my own wisdom on a few youngsters the other day, I realized something else: they weren't going to listen to a damned single word of any of it either.

So I stopped.

The one thing I have learned is how to make mistakes. I've learned how to follow my instincts/heart/first impression and ride it through, for better or worse. Don't bother giving 18 highschool senior/soon-to-be college freshmen. We won't/didn't listen. It's not in our nature.

But I think it's a positive thing, to jet out on your own, blah blah blah. Good stuff.
