Birthday Musings
Hmmm... It's been a while since I posted. What better day to update than my birthday! Today I am 27. Not too old, not too young. I'm liking it so far (it's 9:40 am). Matt got me a fantabulous gift - I have a brand new spanking laptop. It's lovely and it wasn't break the bank. It does everything I need it to do - mainly wordprocessing (hello thesis!) and internet. It does more fancy stuff too and has a very cool LCD screen. This will enable me to take my laptop to a coffee shop say and write my thesis there. Or at the public library. Or at a park bench. Or anywhere that does not provide me with a zillion procrastination tools - ie home. Should I write my thesis or reorganize the linen closet?
Speaking of which, I handed in my thesis introduction Chapter One on Friday. It was due today, but I didn't want to mess with it over the weekend. So hurray for only 3 chapters left to go. You know, the meaty ones that actually mean something and aren't just 15 pages of setting you up to read something. Still, an accomplishment to celebrate.
And celebrate we did this weekend. We celebrated the end of chapter one, my birthday, and oh yea - the Red Sox are going to the World Series!!! All sorts of things to celebrate!! We went to Finale on Saturday night and I had a flight of port (yumminess), the sampler dessert plate split with Matt (more yumminess) and a Kir Royale which is champagne and chamboard (even more yumminess).
So all in all, good friends, great husband, and good food = fantastic weekend.
