My new job

May 22, 2007 12:28

Now that graduate school has officially finished for the semester, I am set to take on my next full time job as my very own wedding planner. The pay sucks, but the benefits are great!! Come September, I will once again job search in earnest at a museum.

For the time being though, I've got plenty on my plate. I am in Miami on the first leg of a three week trip that will take me to Costa Rica and back. First up - dress fitting number two! After my debaucle with them shipping me the dress without any alterations done to it (pins were still in the dress), it should be ready for me to try on to my perfect fit (fingers crossed!) I have the following to put on with the dress today: two borrowed veils (one long, one short - ie one ceremony, one reception), a pair of bridal shoes with exactley two inch heels as per requested during my first fitting, a lovely slimming bustier from my trip to New York earlier in the spring, and a strand of pearls to see how the whole look pulls together. I'll be sure to take pictures, but you'll have to request them as I'm not posting them to the livejournal till after matt sees it, ie not till after August 17.

I leave for Costa Rica on Thursday and Matt comes in on Friday for a whirlwind weekeend of activity. Not that I've heard back from any of these people regarding our meeting them, I hope to meet with the following people while Matt's in town:
- Juan Enrique Torres, our bilingual minister
- Sofia Chincilla, our not so competant bridal coordinator at the Marriott
- Head Chef and Bakery chef of the Marriott
- Dinner at Le Monestere, possible rehearsal dinner location.

After Matt leaves, the list keeps going:
- Macha, the awesomest florist in the world
- Dr. Feinzeig, my great dentist who is going to make my teeth sparkle
- Carlos, (don't know his last name), the local bus owner for in town trasnportation for guests for trips and wedding day transport
- Chris, the greatest hair stylest of all time to do a hair trial
- Fernando, our photographer to set up the contract and get that squared away
- Expresso!, the band to give them the mp3's of the songs they need to learn and to give them the songs they're not allowed to play list
- The Costa Rican National Symphony String Quartet, to give them ceremony music requests
- Giacomin's, the bakery and confectioners to get my ideas for favors realized

That's it off the top of my head, but I know there's more on a to-do list somewhere in the bottom of my bag..... Here we go!!!
