I know! She's going gangbusters on Kin of the Soul, I can't wait to catch up this weekend. I just love that story - actually I love pretty much anything she writes.
In canon, Buffy and Riley's bust-up was really both their faults. At times I wanted to smack them both. She's getting a perspective here she didn't have in canon but who knows if it will be enough.
The fight with Toth was vivid and fun, and I enjoyed the push and pull between Spike and Buffy. They're not friends, but they work well together, and the banter is getting lighter every time.
It's actually quite wonderful that Buffy has two guys to talk relationships with. Spike might not be a supportive friend, but he certainly calls it like he sees it. Xander offers up the support, but, he, too, isn't pulling any punches. It's helped give Buffy perspective.
Spike and Xander's encounter was erotic and loving. I enjoyed Xander teasing him about the frozen pizzas, and I really enjoyed Spike turning the tables on the tease. Lovely stuff.
Xander himself was a little surprised to find out how sympathetic he was for Riley's position. Buffy really does need to figure out what she wants in a man (or a woman) *g*
I've not been reading much S/X for a while and when I saw that you had gotten all the way to Book 4 in this fantastic story, I was so happy. I went back and read it all again from the beginning and loved every chapter. You've taken the stories that I loved watching and made them new again with your unique twists and perspectives. The slow and realistic growth of Xander as a person and the S/X relationship is perfectly paced and wonderfully written. The dialogue and thoughts are so in character that I can practically 'see' them.
One of the best things, for me, about this series is that all the main characters have both good and bad qualities. You've done a great job in creating three dimensional characters with authentic feelings. Even after reading about them for several days, I can't wait for more.
I promise to comment more often now that I've caught up with the story. Thanks for writing.
I'm so incredibly flattered that you went back and re-read them. That's a lot of reading! Nothing makes me happier than knowing that someone liked the story enough to re-read. Thanks for letting me know. Just posted the next chapter, and I'm still plugging along with at least one chapter a week.

I loved that Buffy and Riley finally had that talk and that Buffy is learning to accept ALL of who she is.
Poor Buffy! I don't think she was quite ready to hear about Giles & Ethan. LOL!
