Mother said she kissed a lot of frogs...

I had a blind date tonight. Well, not so blind really. Does texting count as dating now? Unfortunately I think it does. This is the age of digital dating. Eharmony tells you that you can meet your soulmate online. Match.com says that it only takes one look. Email one another, review this profile, exchange phone numbers.... and so on. Online dating is killing personal connection. You can't even have a normal telephone conversation with a perspective date anymore...we are so disconnected from each other that we have to text message, which leads me to my current predicament.

I met a guy on one of these dating sites, *I will not say which one, they all suck*. We reviews profiles and emailed. Good start! We exchanged numbers, even better! Then the texting began. When I give someone my telephone number, I expect a phone call. I want to hear your voice damnit! I want to know you are real and not a goddamn computer!

I digress. I asked this man if he wanted to meet for drinks Friday night. I declined, he has to leave town but he asked if he could meet me tonight. Granted, it was after ten at night and I had just returned home from school but I'm young and I don't have to work in the morning... what the hell.  I agreed and we were going to meet at a bar in Birmingham. Halfway there, I receive a text from him asking me if I could meet him at his place instead. Warning bells went off in my head. I asked him to call me so we could discuss it.

I finally receive my telephone call. He sounded like a nice enough guy and we agreed that there would be no tomfoolery of the bad kind.

I make my way to his house and when I got there, he was ... quiet. He offered me a beer and I accepted and we sat down to talk. I ended up doing most of the talking... he seemed uncomfortable. When I asked him to tell me about himself, he proclaimed that he was an alcoholic.

Awkward much?

After he finished a tirade about Hillary Clinton, I was about to excuse myself and go home but he saved me from it and told me he was going to bed. He showed me to the door and that was it.

This makes this the third time *hey look, 4 times I used a word beginning with T* I've gone on a horrible date with a guy I just me.

Not a great track record considering that this was the 3rd date of my life.

I'm going to bed. I've had enough disappointment today.
