ugh.
Wow, it's been so long since I've posted, I almost forgot how to. Anywho...I wish my return to livejournal could be ushered in with good news, but alas, that is not the case.
As you may remember, I was hired at Y&R as a temporary employee filling in for an A.D. who was out on maternity leave. Now that she is done birthing and nurturing, she is coming back to work in 2 weeks. They were hoping to be able to keep me on, BUT turns out they can't. The CEO and CD were both on my side fighting for my job with the big dogs in Zurich, but we got stomped out quite quickly, citing money issues. The upside is that the CD says it has nothing to do with my work, which he says has been great. Other upsides are the great portfolio pieces I created during my time here that will look great in my book, and the HUGE amount of learning I did while on the job. I mean...I actually know about production now.
*sigh* But, I'm still unemployed again. Only I don't qualify for Swiss unemployment because I haven't been working in Switzerland for at least a year. Big time bummer there.
Next steps: I plan to beef up my freelancing, register with some headhunters, and do a serious overhaul of my website. Hopefully that will get me back on track.
In the meantime, I'll be taking a nice extended vacation in the US. Beach for a week with Jack's family from the 12th-20th, then time in Houston with the fam from the 20th until around July 4th. Much needed.
