My first free moment

I hope you are all enjoying your summers so far. I'm officially 3 weeks into my Ernst & Young internship and I'm loving it. I've met so many fun people and learned a lot too. Some of the highlights thus far:

-I stayed in the Sheraton in downtown LA for 2 weeks during training
-We had a $40 dinner limit each night
-I got a laptop...
-and an E&Y American Express card with my name on it (what were they thinking!?!)
-They took us to the Santa Monica pier and let us ride lots of roller coasters
-We went on a scavenger hunt in downtown LA
-I'm going to get my own business cards
-I've had one-on-one conversations with partners in the firm
-I got 2 paid holidays for the 4th of July
-My favorite E&Y acronym is WBL (web-based learning) because it is pronounced 'weeble' (hehe)

If you didn't notice, I haven't actually taken part in any auditing yet, but that will change this Monday. My first client is located a whole 3 miles from where I'm living in Long Beach, so I will have to face rush hour traffic for a whole 5 minutes. I'm scheduled to work on a real estate company for the first 3 weeks, and then a health care company for the last week. Then, it's off to Orlando for a 'conference.' I'm not sure what kind of 'conference' things are scheduled for Orlando, but I see Disney World in my near future! I have a feeling these weeks are going to fly by, but I'm quite excited for the experience!
