New York!
So, I went to New York this past weekend, and it was pretty much amazing. I tried to upload some photos of the weekend, and that lasted about 5 seconds, I don't know how. You can look at them on facebook.
West Point is a beautiful campus-it looks quite old fashioned. It's right on the Hudson River and surrounded by tress with leaves of all sorts of colors.
We got all dressed up: I wore my prom dress (which I still fit into, YES!) and Mike wore his fancy army uniform, and we went to a fancy smancy banquet. It was funny to see how some of the freshman addressed Mike, some of them were afraid to even look him in the eye. And we met a colonel, which is apparently pretty big deal. (all that army rank stuff confuses me)
And then we spent a day in New York City. My favorite was Times Square. I just stared aimlessly for 10 minutes while we were in the intersection right outside of the MTV studios. Did you know there is a ferris wheel in Toys R us? In Central Park, all the noise of the city is muffled by all the trees and there are horse carriages everywhere. And we went to Serendipity for dessert, which was so good! I even saw the table that John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale sat at in the movie. We went to the empire state building and watched the sun set from the top. I rode in a taxi for the first time (TJ doesn't count), and I must say, those drivers are crazy! We even heard horns honking from the top of the empire state building. And I thought LA had road rage...
