We have a signal!

So, with some help from flipperanubi, we managed to sit on the RS-485 bus from the hot tub controller and look at it. Hooked up the 'scope to the bus, and measured the interval of the bits. Running at 9600 bits/s. Wired up the Maxim RS-485 convertor, fed that to a Maxim RS-232 converter, fed that to a PC, and watched the data dribble by. Fired up the hand held controller, and could watch the conversation between it and the main unit (which consisted of the text of the menus being transmitted to the hand held device). So, now it's just figure out the addressing structure, and I should be able to sit on said bus too. Woo!

On another project, I finished adding code to mpg123 to read the meta-data out of MP3 streams. I've got linux running on a Wyse 3850 terminal, with X-Windows, which I run rdesktop on to get a windows terminal at the same time. Now, I can play MP3 streams on it with mpg123, and see track titles. Fun, fun! :)
