Fantasy-league Republicans

Took a drive out in Rural Pennsylvania the other day, and came across a giant barn painting advertising "Advancing Freedom.Org".
It made me hark back to when people were declaring on national television that anyone who opposed the patriot act should be rounded up and shot - I was wondering where the hell these people were back then, when actual freedoms were being stomped on?
They seem to be one of those Fantasy Republicans - their mission statement has that unhinged 'I have no idea what I'm talking about because I only listen to FOX and NewsMax' tone to it - Ex, Point 5:
  • It is the government's responsibility to uphold the Constitution. - Fair enough, but you seem more concerned about some parts than others.
  • For example, it is not a governmental prerogative to guarantee health care for all citizens.IIRC, adhering to the bill of rights is also part of the government's obligations - Care to explain 'Promote the general welfare'? The government guaranteed health care for all citizens when it stopped hospitals from throwing the indigent out onto the street. What you're objecting to now is creating a way to pay for it that's not as retarded as the current system.
  • Our representatives should encourage tort reform, ... Because the constitution literally says this, explicitly - Or the framers would have thought that a per-head cap of $500 (Set by the courts in england) on the lives of the people shot in the Boston massacre would have been fair.
  • greater access through interstate insurance competion, ...And this. IMO, assuming a lack of collusion in the face of the current insurance company actions is naive in the extreme...
  • non-involvement in abortion funding, And certainly this, seeing as how some non batshit insaneChristians can't even agree on abortion, let alone the general public will is on the matter...
  • and total avoidance of government-controlled public options. ...Is the big blinking [CITATION NEEDED] tag even necessary on this one?

...I could break the whole thing down point by point, but you get the idea: Basically, it's a tax protest: "DON'T TAKE MY MONIES AND GIVE THEM TO THE HORRRRIBLE PEOPLE IN PHILTH-A-DELFIA!" Which is, in and of itself, fine. Bitching about your taxes is MORE American than apple pie - Hell, the country is founded on a tax protest - Just one that made a hell of a lot more sense than the current one - Maybe we could wait until the actual taxes are levied - And we've distinguished between what's actually happening and the smoke the GOP noise machine is blowing up your ass - before insinuating armed rebellion?"
