Well, This is Frustrating
You know that feeling you get when you've finally thought of the perfect name or solution to something? I totally had that this morning when I slumped out of bed and started making my thermos of tea--I had the perfect name for the winged elf sub-race I'm creating to live on the floating continent of Rysniel (that fake world I'm making, which I am boringly deciding to name Alterra) alongside the normal high elves and wood elves... but I completely forgot it by the time I was eating breakfast D:
It totally made sense to me, and I think it started with an "A,", but now it's gone T_T Dammit.
I guess in other news, the work on the map is slow. I've inked it, but coloring it with my limited knowledge of Photoshop use is proving to be a sad exercise. I think I'd originally had the idea that I was going to watercolor it IRL, but I have no experience with watercolor :( Also, I think I might save the watercolor experimentation for the botanical illustrations. Maybe. Assuming this stuff actually happens someday. But really, that map was not made to be colored with a fill tool (ie. I really shouldn't have cross-hatched the trees, but it was the easiest way to make sure I didn't confuse them for lakes before the map got colored). The lettering kind of looks awful on the map after it is colored, so I may need to get myself used to my tablet (buried under all kinds of desk clutter, poor thing) to trace over them again and smooth them out. (I really have not developed any comfort with my tablet, because I haven't really been using it at all...) This might be a while in the making, and I might just start writing down my thoughts on several of the geographical features before the map is colorized and pretty, because I don't want to forget everything that's coming out of my head right now.
As a side note, I have no idea why I'm making my winged elves' creator so mean :/ And I need to start making more male historical figures, because so many of my currently created ones are female o_0 (And I have to write them all down... /sigh...)
