Character Name: Ken Amada
Character Series: Persona 3
Character Background: So when Ken was 9, right, his mom was killed in front of him-died protecting him-by Shinjiro's out-of-control persona. No matter how much he explained to the police, no one believed him and just attributed his mother's death to a freak accident. So Ken was like “Screw this shit” and decided if no one else would do something about his mom's murderer, then he would.

AND HIS EPIC REVENGE PLOT BEGAN.

So he was basically just an orphan for two years, staying in the elementary school dorms, until Ikutsuki invited him to live in the SEES dorm during the summer because “having him stay in the elementary dorm just wouldn't be right” (read: “he has the potential to summon personas let's use him”). He eventually joins up with them of his own will, and becomes a member of the team! : D

Until October fourth.

When he's like. “MY NAME IS KEN AMADA. YOU KILLED MY MOTHER. PREPARE TO DIE.” at Shinjiro. Except not in those words, but that's basically the gist of it. And Shinji's like “WELL IF YOU KILL ME YOU'LL BE LIKE ME” and Ken's like “... >(” But then Takaya-the leader of this eeeevil organization called Strega-comes by and is like “OH HE'S GONNA DIE ANYWAY, AND I KNOW YOU'RE SUICIDAL, SMALL 11 YEAR OLD BOY” and Ken's like “OH GODDAMNIT.” Takaya then asks Ken who in SEES has the power to detect shadows/personas/etc. Trying to protect Fuuka, Ken says that he's the one. And just as Takaya's about to shoot him, Shinjiro gets in the way.

Before he dies, Shinjiro tells Ken he's just a kid with his whole life ahead of him and not to waste it like this.

Robbed of his revenge and his facade, Ken runs away from the dorm, basically gives up on living, (Undiscovered history) and is later found by Akihiko who tells him that it's his decision what he does with his life (“You can stay in this place until you die, if that's what you want”), but reminds him that, while Ken's alone, he still has the will to fight, and reminds him that he's been standing on his own two feet. It's this resolution that enables Ken to keep going, and allows his persona to evolve into Kala-Nemi.

After this, Ken basically lives his time in the SEES dorm, fighting with them until it's revealed that the end of the world is coming. He decides, along with the rest of them, to fight to the end-to save the world or die trying. And, indeed they save the world, and like the rest of SEES, he loses his memories of the dark hour and everything that happened there for a month... When he regains his memories, it's only just before Minato dies.

The only really major part Ken has in The Answer is his fight-he fights alongside Akihiko to not go back and save Minato. He understands that Minato chose to die. He had a reason, and even if they don't understand it, it doesn't mean that they shouldn't respect it.

It's assumed that he went to live in another dorm after the SEES one closed, but nothing is really expanded upon-Ken's role in SEES is kinda minor >| Not enough love for this child.

Character Personality: [Taken from Apps for Mayfield and the dollsy house] You expect a lot of things from an eleven year old. Playfulness, hyperactivity, innocence. You don't get any of these out of Ken Amada. Ken's more mature than your average high schooler, forced into adulthood young. After watching his mother be murdered by Shinjiro's out of control persona, Ken became a bitter, vengeful shota.

Ken's good at hiding who he is. When he first joins SEES, everyone thinks it's just because he wants to help people. NO, SEES. YOU WERE WRONG :|;;;; He really joins to get revenge on his Shinji. Cue dramatic music. Nobody notices this. Not even the people who really should due to being close to the situation. Like, you know, Akihiko. Nobody notices that he doesn't really have the will to live past seeking his (as previously mentioned, unnoticed) revenge, and plans on committing suicide afterward. They think he's just an altruist at a very young age. He's good at playing the kid who just tries too hard and wants to help.

But that's because that's who he really is, inside. Past his thirst for revenge, his pain for losing his mother and his wanting to die, Ken's always just been that kid who wants to make sure he never has to see someone he loves die again. He pushes himself and uses a weapon twice his size to make up for his height. In fact, even when he loses the revenge he's lived for for two years, Ken still has that desire, telling Takaya that he is the one with the power to sense shadows, rather than Fuuka, to stop him from trying to kill her.

Undiscovered personality?
After Shinjiro's death, regretting everything he'd done, Ken has decided to live his life fully, to the length it's supposed to be; he's made up his mind to live his life as long as he can in order to make up for the lives his mom and Shinjiro lost. He refuses to give up when he's told the world is lost, and fights until the very end (quite literally in my game as he was on my team against the Nyx avatar).

Just as he respects life, Ken Amada respects death. In the Answer, Ken fights alongside Akihiko to respect the life that Minato gave everyone with his death. He's a very “look forward don't glance back, don't look over your shoulder, live for the future that we have” kinda guy. And yes. He's 11.

Notes: anything from vengeanceshota BUT. I'm gonna be a jerk and pull him from between October 5th and October 6th because that's when Ken needs to learn.

Sample Post: Ken Amada wasn't used to being with other people. He was used to watching on the sidelines, thinking his own thoughts, planning his own plans, only being among others when necessary, only following plans when needed to keep his facade. He sat in a chair, knees to his chest, watching other, older students pass him in the common room. Even among others, Ken was alone. The room could have been crowded to the point people pressed against each other, but Ken would still be unnoticed, small, forgotten. Alone.

He didn't mind it. Being alone like this gave him time to think. Gave him time to remember, to wonder. Wonder if he'd go back to that dorm in Iwatodai, wonder if they'd take him back, wonder if Mitsuru and Akihiko and the others in S.E.E.S. really believed his story (“--He came out of nowhere, he said Shinjiro-senpai was going to die no matter what I did, he said he was taking suppressants and then Shinjiro-senpai tried to stop him and he shot him and--”). He wondered what they were going to do to him if he got back. Maybe they were going to turn him into the police (“--He asked who, who had the ability to sense things. I thought I could tell him it was me, I thought it would keep him away for a little, but he shot and Shinjiro-san--”). He probably deserved it. They'd locked him in his room... No one had expected him to have the power to open that window on his own. But he wasn't stupid, they'd forgotten to confiscate his evoker. His evoker that was still at his side, looking dangerous, though it shot nothing but air and did no danger to anyone on its own. He wondered what they classified Shinjiro Arigaki's death as. An accident. A crime. They'd never find the one who really killed him. He wondered if Akihiko would press the police to find the real murderer. … He wondered what Fuuka was doing. Was she worried about him?

He looked away from the other students, pressing his forehead to his knees. They were giving him a headache. He'd forgotten to eat again today. He forgot that a lot, since coming here. Sometimes he would just be busy, other times he'd just feel sick. He wasn't the best at really taking care of himself. It had always taken someone to remind him to eat, to brush his teeth, to take Koromaru out for a walk, to clean the lobby when it was his turn. All he ever thought about was fighting. At least, before...

Ken Amada wasn't used to being with other people.
