A little help for my project by answering questions

I love to watch anime, play visual novels, and immerse myself in that entire culture. Not the little kid stuff that you can actually find on an American TV, but the pure, digitally-imported stuff obtained straight from Japan with the help of fansub groups; same with the visual novels. Really, I could be tagged quite accurately by the title of "otaku".
What keeps you to your passion/thing that you love doing even through the toughest of times?
It's familiar to me; it's what keeps me grounded. Everywhere I go I surround myself with it, from the music I play to the wallpapers on my computer at work. If everything else in my life burns away or betrays me, I still have Key's epic work of Clannad, I still have Ever 17's mind-blowing plot, I still have Miku Hatsune's beautiful voice. Some people may find it all cliché or childish, and group me in with examples of the most extreme ends of the spectrum for the culture in a mocking gesture, but that's only because they can't be bothered to open their minds enough to try and enjoy music of which they can't understand the lyrics or shows that require the effort of reading subtitles.
(How brief were the answers supposed to be? Because I realize only now that I started ranting towards the end, sorry :[ These were really wildly difficult questions for me to answer, I hope you can use any of that and that I may have helped in some way even a little! :] )
