it's really good to have a sister working at a thrift store..

so, faye calls me and tells me that they got a bunch of records in and she thinks i would like some of them. ok, i say, ill be up there before you close. i finish what im doing, eat some dinner, and go up to the thrift store at about 6:30(they close at 7). what she was talking about is this basket full of records, with a sign saying 25 cents each. there was a BASKET FULL, like a grocery basket, of old jazz records, and i wanted ALL of them(except for a little tiny bit towards the back of the basket). so, i look thru all of them, and by the time i got done it was ten til 7, and they were yelling at me thru the speaker to make my selection and come up to the register. so, i quickly pick thru the numerous COUNT BASIE records and choose a few, i get every one of the DIZZY GILLESPIE and LOUIS ARMSTRONG records, pick a couple of CHARLIE BARNET ones(ive never heard of him). i ignore the numerous DORSEY BROTHERS records, except one that shows someone playing a trombone, and get a hillarious looking mexican record from the 70's that was in the back section. seriously, if i didnt live at my parents house, i would have gotten every single on of them. the thing i hate about things like this is that i dont really know much about jazz, and when i come across an opportunity like that, i dont know what to get and what not to get. i know i love dizzy, and louie is a no brainer, but im not sure about count basie or charlie barnet or the dorsey brothers.

so, i take the 45 records that i had chosen up to the register, and faye is there ringing up somebody else, and she tells me to count them while she is doing that. so i start counting them and this other lady says she will ring me up. 25 cents for each of these records is a steal, a HUGE one, but before i finish counting the records, this lady tells me "looks about 50 cents worth", and only charges me 54 cents for all them. 54 CENTS! yeah. i am really excited. i dont know where im going to put them. my case is already overflowing. and since i dont have a digital camera to take a picture of them, i am going to list them all(cuz thats the kind of nerd i am):
