Sparks tonight was cute.

We started with painting wooden cut-outs of flowers. The kids loved it.

Then we talked about Easter. Everyone had a story. I could barely make out what a few were saying with their baby-like voices, but they were so excited!

Then the girls made a "doll" of another Spark using a wooden spoon, some wooly string, etc.

The whole time my favourite Spark, Molly, who is 5 and the smallest Spark there, was saying "Sunshine, I am so excited for you to babysit me on Saturday!" She has been asking me for forever to come take care of her - even when she sees me at Broadway! So we have a date Saturday at 5:30. Her parents are teachers, so they've really helped me out with my applications. Amazing family. Amazing kid.

At each meeting, we give out a "certificate" and a little badge for a girl who has been good (usually choose two girls). We've only been doing this for a month and decided to implement it (positive reinforcement) because we were really having a problem getting the girls to listen and calm down at meetings. It's pretty much been working like a charm now.

Anyway, one of the moms brought to our attention that the girls who have been consistently good have not yet received an award; ie: her child - who, by the way, is actually consistently good ... but has also been absent a week or two since we started doing this, therefore halving her chances of being picked. The girl even came up to me and said "Sunshine, I'm sad because I didnt get the award." So I thanked her and reassured her that she really did deserve the award and promised her that she'd get it next week, and even let her pick which badge she wanted. She's happy now.

ANYWAY

I officially accepted UWO. I need to give them $250 to secure my spot tomorrow. Luckily, it goes toward my tuition.

My driver's licence expired in December. I just realized it today when I was photocopying it for my police check consent form. Anyway, I called the MTO and they conceeded that they messed up and didn't send me a notice about the expiration. Doesn't matter: because it's within a year of the expiration, I don't have to start from scratch. I just have to pay the $75 to renew it (which you have to do every 5 years, anyway; I guess December was 5 years since I got my G1 or G2 or whatever). They said my $75 G2-exit fee doesn't renew the licence when it goes to a G, people have to pay another $75 to actually renew it - which just happened to occur 6 months after I got my G. *ugh*

I applied to summer day jobs today. I just need some extra cash. I thought I had more money than I actually do. Depressing.

... and I am postponing moving to St. Catharines until later in June or maybe even July ... if I go at all. Depends on the thousands of variables floating around.
