So yeah... I need to update.
Last Wednesday [July 11th.] was the Saosin show. It was a show I've been looking forward to since I first heard it existed. It was most definitely worth the $16 and then some. They came with
Flight 409 [<33333!],
The Receiving End Of Sirens &,
Poison the Well. All the bands were great except Poison the Well. All their songs blended together to sound like one big, long, terrible, drawn out thing. I have no idea why they couldn't get into the crowd either. They seriously have issues with putting out the "energy" that you normally get with live shows. Any way yeah. They just sucked. The lead singer also looked like my gym teacher, so that wasn't helping.
But yeah. two nights before the show I spent the night with Ashlye at her Aunt's house because she was house sitting. That was fun we played lucky ducks, sat around and sang All Time Low songs, planned for Warped Tour like it was the next day, and then sat on MySpace for hours. But anyway. On Wednesday morning we went out to her house so my dad could pick us up from there. We then picked up my sister and headed to Mr. Smalls. It was around noon so I'm sure you can assume that we were the first ones in line. So we ended up sitting in line til 6:30 and talking about nothing, it was good fun, as always. But it rained at like 3-ish? The people told us we could go in the building at the top of the stairs to stay at least a little bit dry. That was nice of them.
Once we got into Mr. Smalls, I positioned myself at front-row, center, as usual, then waited for the first band to get their asses on stage. [Yes I'm a bragger.] I thought they wouldn't be that good, but they were AMAZING. Flight 409. Remember the name. They were easy to get into and a couple of them were rather attractive, so that helped. =] But yeah, the guitar player, Kyle, kept standing in front of me and singing to me like I knew the words, and I just laughed at him like a retard. As I keep saying though, their whole set was amazing. I love them. I bought their EP and I can't stop listening to it. It's really good. So go check them out. Seriously. I'll definitely be seeing them the next time they come to town.
Next up was The Receiving End Of Sirens. Ashlye was really excited to see them. The only song I knew was "Planning a Jailbreak" because me and Ashlye kept running through the house with a cape screaming "He'll fly! Only like a jailbird could!" But they were still pretty great. They're coming back September 12th. So I'll have to buy tickets for that, most def.
Then Poison the Well. You already know how I feel about them. So I won't repeat. It will just anger me.
Then it was time for Saosin! Their crowd was insane. People were landing on my head constantly. I had a panic attack 3 times, and almost pissed myself 4 times. It was the least fun I've had at a show, but Saosin were AMAZING live. Like seriously. Normally bands like Saosin aren't that great live, but they were. Cove has got some pipes, man. And he's hot. =p They played everything I wanted them to, and he sang to me during "Bury Your Head" so that pretty much made my night right there. That's my favorite song, fer sure.
After the show I forced my way out. I was gonna hang around because Cove was signing things, but I was too busy panicing and dying so I got out then went to the back to check out some Flight 409 stuff. I ended up getting their EP and a tshirt. I met them all and told them how amazing they were. I got pictures with them too. Kyle and Justin are my favorite. Shaffer's pretty awesome too. Kyle helped me calm down cause he could see that I was looking rather shitty compared to the beginning of the show. He then called the rest of the band over and made them sign my stuff and take a picture. I love them. Justin couldn't have been more excited to take a picture with me. He like grabbed me and pulled me as close as possible. He said he was sweaty. I told him I was worse. =) When I finally got done getting everything signed and getting pictures I looked over my shoulder and saw Cove. So I went up and said Hey then got a picture and had him sign my ticket. He was really nice too. He apologized for people being bitches to me and others landing on my head. He said he's not a fan of crowd surfing. I like that. But they didn't listen to him. Asshats.
Anyway. I had an amazing time and I'm definitely seeing them again when they come back. All three of them. Flight 409. TREOS. [just because that's easier to type and spell.] and Saosin.
My next show is Warped which should be a good time. I wanna see All Time Low, Cute is What We Aim For, Love Arcade, and Maylene and the Sons of Disaster. Let's hope I don't have to sacrifice anyone to see another. That always happens, and it sucks. Then the day after Warped is Kill Hannah! <3. We all know how much I love them. I can't wait. THEEENNNN on October 9th Smashing Pumpkins are coming. I'm most def going to it and skipping school to get there early as hell. Well, at least if i get General admission.
Peace out, boy/girl scout.
