it's CHRISTMAS!!!!
wow, i have so much to write about! and watch me forget something.
i'll start with the dance, which was excellent. so michelle, kyle, meredith, danny, rachel, shane, sarah w., ricky, and matt were to come to my house at 7:00 for dinner and dessert. everyone was on time except my date, matt, who was coming from altavista i think. dinner wasn't quite ready yet anyway so it's not like the food was getting cold while we were waiting, but once 7:45 rolled around we started to get a little worried. rachel and michelle didnt know his cell number, so they called erin only to find out from erin that matt doesnt have a cell, so there was basically no way for any of us to get in touch with him. finally right around 8:00 we see a car pull slowly up in front of my house and then stop, so rachel yells out the door, "matt???" and we hear "yeah!" so we all are relieved. poor matt had gotten lost and it was really very lucky that he happened to turn down greenway court. but anyway so then i met matt for the first time haha. then we ate dinner (meredith brought the chicken parmesan, michelle--bread, rachel--salad, and my mom made potato casserole), then dessert (sarah brought her mom's homemade poundcake!). everything was absolutely delicious! dinner went well, a couple minor awkward silences but we got around them without any trouble hahaha. after all that we took group photos and then headed over to the dance at around 9:30. the dance, as i said, was excellent. i had so much fun with matt and he was really the sweetest and nicest ever! i really felt that the dance didnt last long enough haha, but i think by the end of it everyone else in our group was pretty pooped. i dont know why but i never felt the least bit tired until i got home and got in bed. then i was exhausted. but that was later. so the dance was great. i didnt see a lot of the people i wanted to see, which saddened me, and some people i only saw briefly, but oh well. after it was over we went over to sarah wade's and watched tv and played some mad foosball and ate chex mix and crashed for awhile, then we all left around 2:00 and matt brought me home. all in all it was VERY fun and i wish we could do it all again. pictures will hopefully be posted if my computer will just cooperate for once and actually let me load the pictures, grrr.
ok i cant really remember friday, just that waking up for practice was a bitch but luckily i felt great on our 6 mile run haha. on christmas eve i ran with cat on a 90min run! we drove down coffee road then parked somewhere and literally ran up a mountain, down the other side, then back up and back down. no seriously. we ran up and over a mountain. i'm not even kidding. (our turn-around point was right near the christmastree farm). it took 25 min. to go up, 20 min. to go down, then we had to turn around and go back. it really wasn't that bad, there was no traffic on this road and it was 45 degrees out and warm enough that we ran in shorts and short sleeves, and we ran at conversational pace since we were going up a mountain which i had never done before. it took an hour and a half but it was really fun. there were a couple instances on steep sections when i thought i wasnt going to make it but it really ended up being not that bad. i cant really remember what i did the rest of the day. at 6:30 my sister and i went out to dinner with family at king's island, then i delivered some white trash, then we went to the 11:00 service at our church, which i almost fell asleep in hahaha. i was very tired by that point.
THEN of course it was christmas day! woke up at around 9, sat at the top of the steps with lauren and mackie until 9:30 when mom and dad finally let us come down. we saw what santa brought us, opened our stockings, opened presents, ate our huge delicous breakfast, mom and dad went to the 11am church service, lauren and i watched a movie until they got back, finished opening presents, got dressed, went over the my grandparent's for lunch and more presents, went over to my aunt's house for more food and stuff, then came back here and had our christmas night get-together with all our family where we just eat more food and show off our presents hahaha. man it was a good day. got lots of awesome things.
just a few highlights:
--my very own digital camera! now i wont have to steal my parents' anymore!
--SNL: the best of will ferrell volumes 1 and 2 DVDs!!!!!! (already watched both of them, already laughed until my sides split open)
--an exercise ball! (definitely asked for one and really hoped to get one!)
--kicking and screaming DVD (love that movie!)
--lots of really cool clothes
--lots of ORANGE things (including orange tights from my sister)!
basically everything i got was awesome but i dont feel like listing everything.
so far christmas break has rocked my socks! hopefully the rest of break will be the same! well i believe it's time for bed. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
