lol i know, right? every time I see he has posted on his livejournal, I feel like this should autopost in the comments. WTF is he doing blogging when there are books to write!
You know I haven't even read these yet, nor have I seen the show. I have access to HBO Go over the Summer (because of True Blood), so I feel like I should watch it soon. But on the other hand, I was told it's best to read the books first, and I'm not sure I can take those on right now and be done with them before the Summer is out.
honestly, that line in the song about describing the feasts is one of the reasons I don't plan on reading them. I find i like to watch fantasy stories, but don't really care to read them. World building bores me. The show is totally worth it. I did try to listen to the first book after season 1 ended and it was SO FAITHFUL that I got bored about halfway through. So you could safely give the first season a chance :)
Thanks for the advice. I'm honestly not sure they're my kind of books either. I've never been much for heavy fantasy, and maybe it is the world building that gets too tedious... I used to say if a book came with a bunch of maps in it, I wasn't interested. (Maps of fictional places I mean.) I'm not sure why. I feel like that's something I need to get over. A lot of people I've talked to said they didn't think this series of books would be their thing either, but they found themselves surprised. So I feel like I need to give them a chance. It's just...there are so many other things I want to read more. I'm just not in the mood for that type of thing at the moment.
