GAH! I haven't posted in AGES! Actually, I've been really bad about livejournal these past couple of weeks...need to find a balance in my life between web social, IRL social...and video games LOL!

Actually, bittertwee and I have been having come great email conversations about the state of the social network world. Our newest pet peeve is the stupid integration of Facebook into website, the main offender being SPOTIFY.

When Spotify first launched in the US, you could register with your email address. NOW you have to have a Facebook account and you sign up for the service that way. Now, let's be honest, this is some brilliant marketing and I'm sure HUGE sums of money are flying around right now. But it's just wrong that it is the ONLY way to register. Why not with Google+ or OpenID? VERY suspicious. I know bittertwee deleted her FB account today and I'm sort of tempted to get rid of mine because I don't really use it...but some of my other friends do. And by that, I mean, I post to it via twitter and tumblr but I barely go there to do anything but play Sims Social. BUT I have friends who read my FB and see all my posts that way. Conundrum.

IN OTHER NEWS: Just watched The Wedding of River Song which I enjoyed and I think wrapped up some things that needed to be ended. I'll try to digest the whole thing and write up a proper post at a later date but right now I'm totally spazzing because IT'S TIME FOR MY NEXT ADVENTURE!

Tomorrow, I'm going to leave on my first ever CRUISE! Yes, it's simontrueheart's birthday this week and we are all setting sail for Bermuda together to celebrate the awesome that is him. :) I've never been on a cruise before so I'm a little nervous, but I know I will have fun because it's hard not to have fun with simontrueheart, Perri, and Mathew around!

And (going back to what I said in the third paragraph there) I paid the extra $10 to give myself some international texting so I can update my twitter/FB from Bermuda via texting. I plan to describe to all my Maryland friends what the SUN looks like! (apparently we had some on Friday but it was while I was at work - not fair).

Oh, and while randomly looking for Star Wars related crafts I could use for an upcoming library program, I found Cubeecraft which just happened to be doing a promotion with Carnival Cruises so I made a little Cubee!Sam to take with me on the cruise and take pictures of ala the Travelocity Gnome.

More posting when I get back from Bermuda (hopefully slightly less pale...and not too many pounds heavier!!!!!!!)

***HUGS***
