I am super-behind on my flist because I was trying to avoid Dollhouse spoilers (and I may or may not have had a slight hangover yesterday...I think it was just the world was a little too bright...)
BUT ANYWAY! I finally watched Dollhouse
faeriesfolly totally called it - Mellie is a Cylon Doll. I wasn't sure if that was too obvious or not, but Joss toyed with our minds just the right amount by having Paul and her hook up. Up until the sex scene, I was pretty sure she was going to be a Doll, but when they had sex I was like "nah, he's just gonna kill her horribly" but then Dewitt is all *ringring* "FLOWERS!" and she went all ninja I was like "oh snap Joss, you got me!"
So...who is the inside person? Echo's handler? Topher's female helper girl? Dewitt? Claire? Someone totally random to mess with our minds??? No idea. I really can't even guess. I think Boyd is involved though, because it felt like he distracted Topher so the imprint could be switched. I felt that as soon as Topher went back inside all happy-go-lucky. He reminds me of Warren - a nerd that seems okay but will probably go super dark and evil on us before the show is over.
Still feeling pretty confident that Echo will not be in the Dollhouse when this season ends. I'm wondering if Boyd has a connection to one of the previous Dolls...we haven't really gotten much backstory on him or his reasons for joining the Dollhouse. I wouldn't be surprised if in some way he knew or knew of one of the Dolls murdered by Alpha. I'm thinking Alpha's plea for murdering the dolls might be that it was the only way to "save" them. I mean, he couldn't reprogram them with their original personalitties. Did death seem like the only release?
And why do I feel like Alpha is going to turn out to be the good guy? Or, at least, misunderstood. I mean, really, he's trying to bring down the Dollhouse, just like Paul. Will they join forces? Or is Alpha the Magneto to Paul's Prof. X? (I still have no idea who is playing alpha, no spoilers please! I want to be surprised!!!)
Poor Victor
"I did something wrong"
"What did you do?"
"No one will tell me"
Aaaaaaaaaw.
When Dewitt sat down with Echo while she was painting and said "Do you want it to be finished?"...that sounded like an embedded code, like "It's time for your treatment". Like, if Echo had answered differently, she could have been put in the attic, but not because something was wrong, but because she was done being a Doll. Do they have a way out?
So, is this how the next few episodes will go - will someone switch up Echo's program and have her help Paul? How will they hide that from Boyd, Dewitt, and Fuckwit (I swear, I almost remember his name but...nah)?
I also noticed that all of the women we've met outside the Dollhouse, or at least the ones that have reoccuring roles, are *ahem* rounder than the dolls. Mellie, the FBI agent that has helped him twice (who is also black and his barely any hair on top - she's like the anti-doll)...and now that we know that Mellie is a doll of come kind...it's good, it keeps us guessing. Not all dolls are anorexic, only they ones on the showroom floor.
Let me say that Dollhouse ties in pretty well with the end of Battlestar Galactica. I mean, maybe man won't create Cylons - we'll skip the complicated robotics stuff and just reprogram humans.
