Apparently the Robert the Bruce movie had a lot of issues with the release. Many UK cinemas wouldn't show it and there were actually a few boycotts of theatres because of it. I think a lot of people were pissed because there are always so many movies about English royals, yet when the rare Scottish movie pops up it's a battle to get it released!

I am the Worst for watching things and being like OH AYE AND WHAT PART OF SCOTIA IS THAT ACCENT FROM XD I can't watch Outlander because the accents really rub me the wrong way, and half of that cast ARE Scottish XD

The musician is called Steve Byrne :) He's a lovely wee guy :) He's in the band Malinky, who are definitely on Spotify :) If you do check them out, my favourite songs are Shipyards Apprentice (I'm actually getting a tattoo based on it!), When Margaret was Eleven, and Court of the Fairy King :) They take old Celtic songs and create music and melodies around them and it's beautiful. I've only been able to see them live once (they tend to play higher up than Glasgow) but they blow me away. The newest album is amazing.

OH yes, you told me about Malinky, I listened to them after you raved about them a few times on here. :)

Why were they boycotting the movie? Because the focus was on Scottish independence?

I love them :)

We don't know why the cinemas weren't showing the movie, tbh. It could be because it's an indie movie and they didn't think it it would make money. The fans boycotted cinemas because they wouldn't show the movie.
