really great "Good Place" article

Obviously, MASSIVE SPOILERS for all the seasons of the show. If you haven't watched the finale, don't read this until you have, lots of speculation about Season 4.

But omg did this make me love this show even more. And I might have been getting a little teary eyed as I read this.

AHAHAH I'm watching Good Place now and I was going to tell you to watch it, too! I'm not quite caught up yet (just two eps left before I am, noooooo) but oh my god, I love this show so much. I watched season one in a day, season two the nextday, then the work week slowed me down on season three.

I'm keeping my Netflix account an extra month in thanks for them recommending this show to me.

I adore Kristen Bell so I was "in" from the start but the show has gone above and beyond what I expected. I really have no idea where it is going but I love it.

GET TO THE FINALE!!! WE MUST DISCUSS!!!!!!

I want to watch them NOW NOW NOW, but as soon as I'm done with these last two eps, that's it until the new season. :( So I also never ever ever want to watch them, because then I'll have no new ones left!

Nooooo I watched the last two tonight. I couldn't resist. Now it's over!

[Cut off here]

I sniffled and dabbed my eyes during the goodbye movie. And I need to know what happens next! How can it be over!

The article was interesting, and I could see how it fits... The more I think about it, the more I believe it. Michael's name continues to make me lift my eyebrows (and want to skim the Bible to see how the angel Michael fits into things).

I don't even know what else to day. I'm so sad that I have no new eps to watch!

Now you are all caught up though and I feel like spoilers for this show pop up a lot so better safe than sorry!!

YESSSS the Eleanor and Chidi "movie" got me right in the feels. Though Eleanor's "I'm a legit snack" line made me go into a giggle fit.

I can't imagine how it is all going to wrap up in the end. The system doesn't work, but how can they fix it? Or maybe that is the point - that two normal people CAN fix the big system's issues if they try hard enough?

Will Chidi and Simone fall for each other again in the afterlife, leaving Eleanor to push forward on her own? Will Jason immediately blow it by asking too many questions about pizza???

Do you listen to the Good Place podcast? In the one about this final ep, they mentioned people are reading too much into things and looking for a lot more connections than are there, which made me think about the article.

I completely love the podcast, even though I only heard that one so far. Wish I had known about it sooner, so I could listen to each one after the ep.

I heard somewhere that it's intended to be only four seasons long? I hope that's wrong!

I have not listened to it! Is it good? I'm not surprised we are all reading far too much into it all LOL. I'm sure the end game is far more simplistic but I have faith in Michael Schur.

I hope they have a set end point, and if it is four fantastic seasons, then I am fine with that. I've seen too many shows drag on for years. This show is pretty complex so I'd rather they stay on their plan and wrap it up when they are done. It is a model I wish MORE shows would follow. I've had too many series go from "Favorite show!" to "We shall never speak of this again" because they just.wouldn't.quit.

I've only listened to the one ep (the last one), but I completely enjoyed it. That being said, I'm not sure if I'll go back and listen to the others. I think they'd be best listened to after the ep it's about. I do want to rewatch the whole series though, so I might combine the two. The host's voice (Shaun's actor, I think) is really nice to listen to, and they have stars/writers/etc from the show explaining stuff about the ep.

100% agreed. While I'd miss it (I already miss it!), better to end on a high point rather than drag it out to the point where it's not even enjoyable anymore.
