it's not the size of your TBR pile that counts!

I'm up to 78/100 for my GoodReads challenge. I've been reading a graphic novel every night to try to pad my numbers LOL. I don't think I'll make it to 100 but I'm not posting my "year in review" until the year is actually done, dagnabit! (Plus, we just got in a cart of new comics and they all look SO GOOD ( Read more... )

I can never decide if I should include picture books or not. In the past, I had a rule for myself that I could count them if I wrote an actual review, instead of just clicking how many stars. (I'm lazy about writing reviews.) I think next year I'm going to include storytime books, because I actually put thought and effort into reading them - it's not like I'm just idly browsing through. I thought harder about The Book
That Eats People this year than the six audiobooks I never finished, so…

I like that rule! I always try to type up something since I go back to my GoodReads in the spring when creating my middle school booktalks. If I don't give myself any hints as to why I liked a book I will be in trouble in May!

Haha, I've been reading more graphic novels too! I only need to read another four to get to my goal. They've been on my to-read list anyway, it works.

78 books though! I feel I always say this, but I want to get back into reading. I keep falling into the trap of rereading books I’ve already read (I want to recapture a specific feeling or moment in time maybe, who knows), whiz in turn leads to never finishing them.

Maybe my rule for next year should be to only read books I’ve never read before.
