I grabbed Witcher 3 during the Steam Summer Sale, it was $20 for the game + DLC so I jumped on it. I could have just played Tim's copy, but that would require me to chase him away because Steam's family share only works if the other person is not on their computer. and you can put the difficulty all the way down to pretty much just play the story

That's so important for me. I'm not good at shooting and jumping on things, but I love games for their stories. I wish they all had that option.

Is it a game that I could pick up and play if I haven't played any of the other Witcher games?

I think so. My friend is playing it and he has never played the other Witcher games and he is enjoying it a lot. You just know the characters and the world a bit more if you have already played, but there are several cut scenes that catch you up on some backstory and the main storyline is brand new. CD Projekt Red knew that there would be a lot of first-timers to this realm, so they made the game right. :)
