I'm watching! I love it, and I am also completely hooked. I absolutely adore Betty and Veronica's relationship, and I am so curious about what went down between Archie and Jughead. Plus, everything else. And Luke Perry! I adore the show.

Yeah, they are really having a lot of fun with what we know/think we know about Riverdale and the characters. I really like Betty and Veronica's relationship too!

I plan to watch soon! It was coming out as we were pulling up stakes - but I loved the comics and everything I've read told me I'd love the twist. So I'm soooo looking forward to seeing Archie and the Gang (and Riverdale!) in a whole new light. Just hope they keep some old jokes in there for us old-timer-fans, lol!

*HUGS*

I think there are some little winks and nods to the original comics in there, though I could probably count on one hand how many Archie comics I have ever read. And BONUS CW seems to have made their app for streaming shows free now and someone told me they don't remove episodes after a few weeks like they used to, which I hope is true because I always eventually fall behind on shows :\

I wasn't but am now planning to. I didn't make the Archie comics connection at all even though I thought Riverdale sounded familiar...

I totally mocked it when it was announced but then there were rumblings from reviewers that it was kinda good so I gave it a try and I'm hooked.

I don't mind that Archie is that old. I mind that he's always so pale and broody that I always assume he's a vampire before remembering that it's Archie from the comics. I'm having fun with it but I hate Archie, Ms. Grundy and Jughead is the best part although they erased his sexual orientation. :(

I like Josie and the Pussycats although I'm still getting used to the sound...I always read the comics like they sound like Jem or the Pussycats movie.

The show first came on my radar from an LJ post lamenting the changes to Jughead's orientation (or lack there of). Though I don't know when that comes up in the show because I don't feel like he's made any overt sexual comments that make me feel like he is straight/gay. He's just broody. But, yeah, I wasn't interested in the show at all when I first heard about it but then reviewers were saying "wow, it doesn't suck" and I thought "well, let me give it a peek" and I'm loving it.

Though I'm not sure how redheaded pale Archie maintains his paleness after working outside all summer and then playing football...though all the redheads in the show are very pale. The color palette is very comic book, but it's like someone dropped an Archie comic in a puddle - the once colors stand out but they are muted?

I'm already hoping there can be a Josie spin off because I loved them from the first second on screen. I was a big fan of the movie because it was so ridiculously fun though now it is SO DATED. Still...I may or may not own the soundtrack

I only watched the pilot and it didn't work for me. Also, I'm annoyed with the asexuality erasure, among other things.

I've never been a big Archie aficionado so I didn't know anything about Jughead's sexuality (or lack there of) until you posted about it on here in reference to the show (actually, that put the show on my radar too because I hadn't heard of it at all either LOL). Though I don't really feel like he's done anything overtly sexual in these first two episodes. UGH I hope they don't plan to hook him up with Betty or Veronica in some kind of love triangle thing. I'd prefer he remained unattached but it is CW. :\

I'm wondering how the show is actually doing. I brought it up with Tim's daughter, who is 14 so I assume in the target demographic for the show and she had no idea what I was talking about.

The ratings were actually pretty bad, even by CW standards, but I don't think they'll cancel it because they already have plans for a (dark) Sabrina spin-off.

I know a lot of people speculate about Jughead being asexual but I never considered it (but I also know this is because I wanted him and Betty to end up together lol)
