i still remember the things i used to do, places i used to go to, and people i used to hang.out with that i so miss..
for example, we have this rock garden in the gradeschool building that had boulders you could climb on.. i used to think i was really doing the extreme sport of rock climbing when i was in grade 1.. hehe! the garden had this huuuuuge mango tree that provided shade when the sun's rays were too hot.. i recall thinking of this garden as a mini forest.. a mini jungle, if you will.. there were so many plants growing, it was fun to play hide-and-seek. :)
we also had this chapel.. i used to go there every time i felt like talking to God.. when i had a problem, when it was the Periodic Exams week, or when i had nobody to talk to.. it was really peaceful inside, plus it was air.conditioned (hehe :P).. every october, we'd go down 2 or 3 flights of stairs as a class and proceed to the chapel to pray.. then, one by one, we'd go up and touch the crucifix.. i didnt understand why we had to do that.. i still dont understand why.. hehe.. but we did, and i found/find it quite strange..
there was something i used to do as a gradeschooler.. if i had any problems, or if there was anything i wanted to tell God, i'd write a letter.. then i'd go to the chapel and put it in this opening where the crucifix was.. hehe.. i dont know if it's still there.. maybe somebody read it already.. but i did that til i was in grade5.. by grade6, i found it silly..
i read the gospel everyday when i was in gradeschool.. and when i read it, everybody heard.. :) that was because i was usually the one chosen to read the gospel over the PA system, or even lead the whole gradeschool population in the morning prayer, angelus, and dismissal prayer.. you have no idea how much of an honor it was for me to be chosen.. haha! i started when i was in grade 3 and i continued doing it for 4 years! :) of course, i wasnt the only one.. there were representatives per grade level and corresponding 'shifts' in terms of months.. :) plus, if you lead the prayers over the PA, you would most likely be chosen to be a reader as well during Mass at the gym.. haha! it was fun coz you were like a VIP..!! :P being a reader or an offerer is soooo much better than just standing and sitting the entire time.. :)
what i liked about it was that i could leave my class around 15 minutes before it actually ended! then we'd just hang.around at the office where the PA system was.. hehe not bad, eh? :) and if i were late for my next class, it wouldnt matter.. my teacher wouldnt mark me as late coz i had a valid reason.. just as long as i was just 5 minutes late.. haha! fun. :)
gah! there soooo many things id like to write about, but i cant find the right words as of now.. hehe.. i'll just continue this one next time.. :)
