When you put it that way... there's so much more

Riley is caught in thought as she carefully studies an older man slowly dragging his feet on the worn cobblestone. The corners of her mouth reach up slightly to emphasize the sparkle in her eyes. They remain focused as if caught in a daydream even as her thoughts are interrupted.
Beth: You can’t keep looking at people like that, Riley- seeing them as objects rather than actual humans.
Riley: Not objects- characters, personalities. It’s not like I’m looking at them thinking what great sculptures their bodies would make or what a wonderful employee they may be. It’s much more personal that that, more internal.
Beth: Right- you look at them and think- what a great character for your new novel they would make. That’s a strange kind of personal.
Riley: And that may be looking at them much more as people than the way everyone else looks at them. I see something real in them, Beth. I can sense their passions, their talents, their desires, their pasts and futures, the very things that make them tick. What connects their bodies to their minds. But more importantly, I see something beautiful and artistic in them. I see what their lovers see when they look in their eyes. I see a life worth taking a closer look at. To see what thought is concealed or revealed by each tiny action. So I guess I don’t see the sunset; but I see the clouds that make it beautiful.
