I've never been so popular!
Women (and some men) have been sidling up to me, whispering to me as we make arrangements to meet outside the office; I'm summoned into beauty salons by pretty women with exotic accents; I am greeted with gleeful smiles by friends, and by total strangers!
Yes, I'm circulating petitions to recall Scott Walker; and everybody seems to love me. Since I signed at 12:10 a.m. (in orange ink, of course) this past Tuesday morning, I've collected 97 signatures in my spare time, and a matching 97 to recall his Lieutenant Governor and partner in crime, Rebecca Kleefisch. I expect to spend a lot of lunch hours standing meticulously OFF the employer's premises, collecting from all and sundry.
I've seem a garbageman pull his truck off to the side of the road so he could sign; I've been swamped in an optical dispensary; I've gotten signatures from bus drivers on break and supervisors on THEIR lunch hours and at least one momma walking her little girl to school and a student here in the lab where I'm composing this; today I've gotten signatures from two Russian emigres and one Hungarian (all citizens delighted to exercise their right "to petition the Government for a redress of grievances")!
