150 years ago, the Slaveholders' Rebellion saw the first shots fired; fittingly, by the traitors/rebels/seceshes/whatever you want to call them: the troops led and duped by the slaveholder aristocracy.
Don't bother to try to pitch to me the subleties of armed rebellion against one's own country in defense of the most indefensible institution. I'm an historian, and the heir of two boys who died as part of the Sixth Tennessee [Union] Cavalry, sometimes called the First West Tennessee (and many worse things). I know better.
