At the end of one week of holidays everything is so much better. I'm still a bit sick of people, but I'm in Brisbane and having a blast.
I had a chance to visit the botanical gardens where I was able to visit the Freedom Wall and check on two plaques my family added.
Today we went on a cruise up the Brisbane river with a high tea. The cruise was great but both glasses I was given had lipstick marks on them - not a hint from the waitress - and the service was...sluggish.
I've done all the culture stuff I wanted to do and walked over 20kms in three days (15 in two!). It's great to be back walking long distances again - it used to be my main way of staying fit.
The art gallery and museum are much as I recall them as being. Had a great time meandering through the collections.
gee I love the elephant so much!
I even finished a class set of marking. I've got one more class set to go.
We've been staying in amazing hotels and recently with my family who are cool but have their own problems. By darling gran is starting to lose her short term memory and that's causing some strain for the family members she's living with. With that said, they chose to buy a house with her so...you know...be patient and not cranky.
And that's the update, not including the awesome concert which is what spawned this whole journey in the rosy place.
Rock on.
