Whew!
I'm currently acting in my boss's positions whilst he's off creating some new form of life (don't get excited - it's not mad science, it's simply the 'marvel' of birth, or some crazy happenstance like that). It's exhausting. It's the crunchy end of semester which means getting in all the grades and scores and making sure they are flawless. And I've done a great job of it. Very happy, although last week I was a bit stressy about all the stuff that needed to get done. With the scores now out of the way (seriously, it could have been a senate estimates committee, for all the pressure!) I can focus on getting my reports written and my faculty charged for next term.
This coming holidays we're doing the trip to Sydney-Adelaide-Darwin again. Should be excellent, and I'm really looking forward to being on the train again. Whislt we're in Adelaide, AVCon will be on, so I'm champing at the bit to get there. In fact this last hour or so I've been streaming the soundcloud recordings of the last few gigs at Neko Nation (
http://www.nekonation.com/media/music/). I'm so excited knowing that they'll be playing some hiNRG music - in some parts it's almost like the Happy Hardcore or yore, so I'm super stoked. I'm really looking forward to going and getting drenched in sweat. Surrounded by catgirls. So many catgirls. I will be taking pictures. Of the catgirls. And me with the catgirls. And my lovely girlfriend. And my lovely girlfriend with the catgirls. And my lovely girlfriend fighting off the catgirls.
And then when I come back to work my desktop will be catgirls. Because why not. In fact, just to cause a stir (or, as some might say, to put the catgirls amongst the pigeons), I want a photo of me with a whole stack of catgirls for my desktop.
Now I'm thinking of nefarious ways to freak out my colleagues. They only just found out I'm a mad gamer, so yesterday I left work to go play games with a "I'm off to storm the castle - I'll bring you loot and XP tomorrow!"
And lo, it was good.
