My Mum Says....
Every morning, my mum will tell me something... About it's never really about anything good.
"Why is your room so messy?"
"Why are you going out so late?"
"Why are you wearing black at night?"
"How come now still no gf."
"Why did you waste money buy this magazine?"
I gave up explaining, or trying to explain after a while. Every single day, I am bombarded with negative nagging. Sometimes, I choose to be pretending to do something (read the papers, watch TV) or remain totally silent. I have become the silent one at home - I don't talk at all. The one other person who is totally the same is my dad.
I care about my mum a lot, and I think she genuinely cares. But trying to reason things with her could be so difficult. Eg Wearing black could be the simpliest reason that it was the dress code of the event.
A friend suggested moving out, but I would still like to take care of my aging parents. Really, what would you do with a very negative and nagging mum?
