Autumn & Us
 jL  '08

When I think of Autumn,
I see carved pumpkins
smiling at you and me.

When I think of Autumn,
I feel the warmth of my clothing wrapping my body
the very same way that your arms do
when I'm in your embrace.

When I think of Autumn,
I hear the dry leaves crunch under my shoes,
similar to your fervant whispers of
"I Love You."

When I think of Autumn,
I smell the crisp clean smells of the season
wafting up my nose--of silvery air--of snow yet to follow--
so very much alike what I notice
when I'm near your body.

But when I think long and hard about Autumn,
I think about my favorite season...
Because it reminds me of you...
My favorite person.
