The house is coming along nicely now, looking very "homey". the corner desk which is a monstrocity in itself is all put together and in working use, it's not the BEST quality, but it LOOKS nice, and that's what's gotta be good enough for now until one of us wins a lot of money and is able to afford those $700.00 desks made out of REAL WOOD and not "engineered". Oh well, we'll take what we can get. It's functionable and that's what counts I guess.
I was woken up around 7:30 this morning by some ruckus over across the way at Murdy's... they were having a garage sale! And I happened to spot, after my eyes had focused, a pair of what seemed like 2 sturdy kitchen chairs (which I needed badly) to go with my small kitchen table. They're light wood and my table is darker, but I'm hoping that uncle dennis will help me out in that department, maybe they could be stripped and stained for a reasonable price?? =D
So all I need now for the house are some tension rods for the windows to hold the curtains or valances--whatever I choose because I have a sewing machine now--and one of those fancy long rods that holds a drapish curtain with the fancy balls on the ends for the doorway to the kitchen.
I'm so proud of this apartment, there are so many things I love about it, I would come down with carpal tunnel syndrome quicker if I were to go into intimate detail with you, reader.
I don't need a HOUSE of my own to be happy. As long as I'm in a good area I don't care about the pad. I mean, don't get me wrong, if you need a giant house with a million rooms that you gotta ponder upon what to put in them (which means spending more money to accomodate the space arrangements) then GO for it, whatever makes you happy, I'm not in a condemning mood.
Just a content one.
