Two weeks.

September 19, 2009. There aren't many days left in the year, and winter is fast approaching.

It's been fourteen days since my best friend left, and I am doing better with the transition than I ever have before. I think it's probably because I have purpose. I'm finally in classes that I like, that I want to learn, finally on a path that I think will carry me to success in a four-year university and a career. Also, for the first time in a long time, my family is whole and overall more stable than it has been in years. And perhaps most personally significant, save for the classes and the purpose...I'm doing something about the way I look, which has always been less than satisfactory to me. The change is slow, but I can't deny that it's happening. It's just extremely sluggish, which is hard to accept. I've never thought of myself as someone who needs instant gratification, but in some areas, I think I'm subconsciously wired to want it.

Overall, everything is going pretty well. School is great, the only class giving me any trouble is Networking, because it's a surprising amount of work and it's pretty dull, but I love all my other classes.

I made my first game with flash, it's a guessing game where the computer creates a random number and the player has to guess it...it's surprisingly fun and I was pretty psyched. Next we'll make a tic-tac toe game, and after that we'll be making a more serious and complicated game, which I think is going to be kind of like asteroids (that old school game).

And in C++ class, I'm a good two chapters ahead and I'm kind of like an unofficial TA, I'm pretty much teaching my half of the classroom. C++ is really easy and it's so cool...and it amazes me how little effort people people put into that class o.O but hey, to each their own I guess.

Creative Writing is pretty cool too. I like the professor, even though he's a little crazy, and it has been getting me writing, and it's shown me that despite the lack of practice lately, my ability to write has not dwindled, and I think it's actually improved a bit. That makes me sound like a conceited bastard...but that's what I think.

What else is new...

Halo 3: ODST comes out this tuesday, I believe, and I'm excited. I was kind of skeptical about it, but I've heard some more about it and seen some of it and now I'm psyched. It's going to be a great game, and I can't wait.

I still need another job, and more hours, and better pay...and I'm still looking. Nothing yet. But after this semester in flash class, I might be able to find something in the field of making flash games or movies or something, which would be really cool. I know a certain comic website that I subscribe to is in the process of making a few flash-based games to augment their website, so maybe I'll be able to help with those! It's a pretty crazy idea, but it would still be cool.

Other than that, I guess I've got nothing. I'm doing really well right now, which comes as kind of a surprise to me. But hey, I won't argue with it. Fall is approaching, and I'm actually kind of looking forward to it. If nothing else, I'll be able to take some great pictures with my new camera! ^^

I hope everyone's doing really really well. I love you all, and I miss you all, and I hope I get to talk to you all soon! <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3
