Summary: Siwon is sick and goes back to his parent's house to rest, and Heechul decides to pay him a visit.
A/N: I originally began writing this for Siwon's birthday, but never really got around to finishing it. I started it over yesterday, and I like it better than the first try.

“He what?” Heechul said, his voice like nails on glass. Leeteuk flinched and pressed a hand to his head, then continued making Kangin’s lunch.

“I said,” he repeated patiently, though his left ear was ringing, “Siwon went back to his parents’ house. You know he’s been sick. He just needs some rest, and I don’t think this is the best place for him to get it.”

Eunhyuk ran by the kitchen with something pink and fluffy clutched in his hands, followed closely by a screeching Sungmin. They slammed no less than four doors before Sungmin’s shrieks of “GIVE IT BACK YOU MOTHERFUCKER” finally faded to a dulled roar.

Leeteuk sighed and waved a wooden spoon in the younger members’ general direction. “See what I mean?” He swatted Heechul’s hand away from his plate of carefully-arranged dumplings.

Heechul pouted and crossed his arms. “He didn’t tell me he was going.”

“I’m not even sure he knew what was going on,” Leeteuk responded. “He had a bad fever and was pretty out of it.” He went to the fridge to get Kangin a drink and didn’t notice Heechul sneakily stuff one of the dumplings into his mouth. He gave Heechul a look when he came back and noticed it missing, but just shook his head and knew that nothing he said would do a damn thing, so he might as well save his breath.

Heechul swallowed and coughed a bit, then asked, “So he’s at his parent’s house?”

“Yes,” said Leeteuk at first, but then he seemed to sense what Heechul was thinking and fixed the man with a stern look. “You are not to bother him, understand? The whole point of him leaving is to get away from us!” He huffed and untied his red-and-white striped apron, placing it neatly over one of the kitchen chairs. “I mean it, Heechul.”

“Yeah, yeah,” Heechul said, avoiding Leeteuk’s piercing gaze. He slipped out of the kitchen when Leeteuk turned around to put the finishing touches on Kangin’s lunch, and pulled out his phone when he was back in the relative privacy of his own room.

He dialed once, got the answering machine, hung up, and tried a different number. This time the other line picked up.

“Heechul, we’re in the middle of something. Stop calling me,” said Hankyung’s voice over the speaker, slightly fuzzy with static.

“What? This is the first time I’ve called you today!” Heechul kicked his shoes off and toppled backwards onto Hankyung’s bed.

“Plus the seventy or so texts you’ve sent me in the last hour alone.”

Heechul made a little throne of sorts out of his and Hankyung’s pillows and snuggled back into it. “Can I help it if I miss you?”

Hankyung snorted and Heechul could hear someone, probably Henry, shriek with laughter in the background. “I’m only gone for the week. We can’t do much without Siwon here -- Zhou Mi, put him down! He’s not a doll!” This last part was shouted in Chinese towards somewhere other than into the phone, but Heechul had to hold it away from his ear anyway.

“Sorry,” Hankyung breathed into the phone a moment later, making Heechul quiver the slightest bit. “Everything’s a bit hectic right now. Um, what exactly did you call me for, anyway?”

Flopping sideways into the mound of pillows, Heechul laughed and pushed his hair out of his face. “I can’t just call to say hi?” He could practically hear Hankyung rolling his eyes, and sat up to shift the phone higher. “Okay, fine. Do you have Siwon’s parents’ address?”

“Leeteuk told me not to tell you,” said Hankyung, but Heechul could hear the hesitation in his voice.

“Come on, Hannie,” he said, using his best you’ll-be-sorry-if-you-don’t-do-what-I-want-bitch voice. “I’m not going to do anything bad. You can text me the address, okay? That way you don’t have to directly break your promise to Leeteuk. Texting isn’t the same as telling.”

It took a little more cajoling and the exchange of a few hushed favors, but Hankyung eventually gave in. “Fine,” he said making Heechul grin in victory. “But don’t tell Leeteuk.” There was a cry of ‘Geng-ge!’ in the background, and Hankyung said something in Chinese before returning to Heechul. “Look, I have to go. See you in a couple days, okay?”

After Heechul had finished complaining that Hankyung never made time for him anymore and how he was a lousy best friend for leaving Heechul all alone in his cold bed, he blew a kiss into the phone and let Hankyung hang up on him. He sat for a moment, thinking and waiting. It was another minute before his phone vibrated again, signaling that Hankyung had followed through on his promise.

With a grin that was only slightly wicked, Heechul sat up and put on what Sungmin called his ‘quiet shoes,’ the ones he used for sneaking out and finding his way into places he shouldn’t be. He made sure that Leeteuk was occupied with Kangin in the kitchen before darting across the doorway and out the front door, closing it softly behind him.

Gripping his shopping bag in one hand and fixing his hair with the other, Heechul hesitated only slightly before leaning forward and ringing the doorbell. Siwon’s parents’ house was on the larger side, with an intimidating black front door that made Heechul feel quite small. Hearing someone moving from inside, he straightened up and arranged what he hoped was a pleasant smile on his face before the door swung open.

“Hi, Mrs. Choi,” he said with a smile, having suddenly forgotten Siwon’s parents’ first names. “I’m here to see Siwon. Um, I brought food!”

His smile widened into a grin at the last sentence, as if he were trying to bribe her to let him see her son. But the smallish woman with the fierce eyes standing in the doorway smiled widely and beckoned him inside.

“It’s been a long time!” she laughed, and Heechul immediately relaxed. He liked Siwon’s parents, but the initial meeting always made him just a bit nervous. Especially when he was showing up at their house uninvited.

But Siwon’s mother made him feel right at home, and he gave her his small bag of offerings he’d stolen from Super Junior’s upstairs dorm and chatted politely with her for a few minutes before asking after Siwon.

“I think he’s sleeping right now,” she answered, leading him up a flight of stairs and down a wide hallway. “But his fever is getting better, so it should be okay for you to see him.”

She stopped when they got to an unmarked black door in the middle of the hallway, putting her finger to her lips to signify that they had to be quiet as she opened it. The room was dark but airy, with several of the windows open and a fan in the corner going to waft a bit of cool air around. In the middle of the room sat a large, wood-framed bed with soft blue sheets, and it was in this that Siwon was currently situated, fast asleep.

“See if you can wake him,” said Mrs. Choi, as Heechul tiptoed into the room. “It’s time for him to take his medicine, anyway. I’ll be right back.”

The door closed again, and Heechul pulled up a desk chair to the bedside. Siwon was sleeping on his stomach, torso bare, hugging his pillow and breathing evenly. Heechul reached out to gently try and shake him awake, eyes widening in surprise when he found Siwon’s skin to be burning hot.

He muttered something under his breath and reached out again, brushing his fingers along Siwon’s cheek and through his hair, then trailing them down his bare back. After a moment he pressed a little harder, and Siwon murmured something and blinked.

“Hey,” Heechul said quietly, pulling his hand back and leaning down towards the little bit of Siwon’s face he could see. “Wake up, sleepyhead."

“…Heechul?” was the muffled reply, as Siwon turned his head more to the side and let out a sigh. “What’re you doing here?”

Heechul shrugged and smiled slightly. “Just wanted to see you. How are you feeling?” Siwon pressed his face into his pillow and groaned quietly, and Heechul laughed. “That bad, huh?”

He started lightly running his fingers over Siwon’s skin again, up and down his spine and over his muscled arms, hardly touching at all. He quickly pulled back when the door opened and Siwon’s mom came back in, bearing a tray that she placed on the floor next to Heechul. After making Siwon take his pills she was gone again, leaving Heechul alone with the dozing man.

There was a small bowl of water and a washcloth on the tray at his feet, and Heechul assumed it was to try and soothe Siwon’s fever. He leaned down and wet the cloth, succeeded in not splashing water all over the floor, then wrung it out and placed it on the back of Siwon’s neck.

Siwon let out a sigh of total relief and Heechul could see his entire body visibly relax. “That feels so good,” he mumbled, eyes closing, and Heechul scooted his chair forward so he was leaning on the edge of the bed.

“Your fever’s still pretty bad,” he muttered as he slowly ran the cloth up and down Siwon’s arms and across the defined muscles on his back, hesitating a bit on his lower back before continuing. He had to re-soak the washcloth a few times to get it cold again, because Siwon’s skin kept heating it up.

After a moment Siwon mumbled something, but it was too quiet and muffled in the pillow for Heechul to hear. “What was that?”

The drowsing man turned his head to the side and exhaled softly. “You’re being so nice.”

“You’re sick. Am I supposed to be mean to you?” Heechul snorted as he trailed the cloth gently down Siwon’s spine, making the younger man twitch a bit.

“But… you’re never this nice.”

Heechul sighed and leaned forward a little more to press a kiss to Siwon’s shoulder, the skin so hot he could have sworn it singed his lips. “Just shut up and go back to sleep.”
