Doojoon makes a wish

Note: PLEASE READ THE AUTHOR'S NOTE AT THE END!

Can we pretend that airplanes
In the night sky
Are like shooting stars
I could really use a wish right now (wish right now, wish right now)
 - Airplanes; B.o.B ft. Hayley Williams

Doojoon jumped as his phone vibrated beside him. He was the only one home, and he had been using the free time to catch up on some ‘Doojoon-time’; all that consisted of at this moment was sitting on the couch dozing off. He closed his eyes again and patted the couch randomly a few times before picking up his phone.

“Hello?”

“Joonie?”

A lazy smile spread acorss Doojoon’s face as he relaxed against the couch again. “Hmm?”

“I miss you.”

A chuckle escaped the leader. “Yeah?”

“Yeah!” He could hear the pout lacing the exclaimation, “A lot! Do you miss me tooooooooo?”

“Of course, you dummy.” He brought a hand up to rub the sleepiness away from his eyes. “How you doing over there?” He got up and walked to the kitchen. He saw an uncapped bottle of coke standing on the counter and sighed, making a note to himself to scold Hyunseung about cleaning up. The dancer was usually good about this stuff, since his unofficial boyfriend wasn’t the most lenient about this stuff. Junhyung could really be a bitchy ahjumma if he tried.

“I’m doing okay. Mom made some kimchi today. She said she’ll make more before I leave to bring back to the dorm.”

“Oh? Thank her for me then. “ Doojoon balanced the phone between his ear and shoulder as he peered into the fridge. All this talk about food was making him hungry.

“I did already! I knew you’d say something like that. She said you’re welcome and asked you to come over for dinner sometime with the rest of the boys.” Another smile crept onto the leader’s face as he heard those words. He really considers himself to have lucky to have Yoseob. The boy’s parents are as kind and as accepting as people on the Korean peninsula get. They had welcomed Doojoon with open arms, and had hugged both him and Yoseob long and hard when they finally admited their relationship. The smile took on a bitter curve as he remembered his own parents. They accepted it eventually, though not before giving him a hard time; but it was the fact that Yoseob had gotten the worst of it that hurt Doojoon the most.

“Hyung?” Yoseob’s voice brought him back to reality.

“Yeah. Sorry. I zoned out. Definitely. Tell your mom I’ll come by.” He shook his head slightly to clear his thoughts.

It was silent for a second before Yoseob spoke again. “I wanna be home, Doojoon.”

“You are home though.”

“No! I wanna be with the boys again. With you!” He paused, and Doojoon swore he heard a sniffle. Then, quietly, Yoseob spoke again, “’cuz home is not home without you.”

The older boy smiled bitterly as he walked slowly towards the window, all thoughts of food abandoned. His heart had fluttered a bit as he listened to Yoseob confess to him again the younger’s need to be beside him. He missed his ball of sunshine a lot. More than he’d be willing to admit and, perhaps even a bit too much. Yoseob had been so stubbornly unwilling to leave the dorm when the company decided to send him back to his parents after his surgery. Something about resting his voice and taking a break before the big comeback. Doojoon had to sit him down and convince him to go, and even THAT hadn’t gone very well. Eventually, the vocalist agreed and left, but not before clinging to Doojoon for the 24 hours prior to departure and at the last minute, kissing the older boy senseless as a “reminder to not look at other men” while he was gone.

“Seobie-ah.” Doojoon finally said to break the comfortable silence between them. He looked out the balcony doors and spotted a tiny light moving against the vast dark night sky.

“Hmm?”

“Look out your window.” Doojoon had been to Yoseob’s house enough to know that the window in the vocalist’s room faced BEAST’s balcony.

“I am. What am I suppose to be looking at?” There was a pause. “ Wait! Is that a shooting star? IS IT? IS IT?” Doojoon smiled as he heard Yoseob’s voice go up in excitement.

“No, it’s an airplane, Seobie.”

“Oh…” Yoseob’s voice trailed off before going up again. “But we can pretend it’s a shooting star! What would you wish for if it was one, Doojoon-ah?”

The leader paused and smiled for the millionth time since Yoseob called. It was obvious where the younger boy was getting all these ideas. A chuckle escaped him as he imagined Yoseob pressed right up against the glass of his big window, craning his neck to watch the airplane fly by.

Doojoon made his wish in his heart as he watched the light slowly disappear.

“I’d wish that I was home with you, boo.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah. ‘cuz my home is where you are.”

I'm starting this...project. Dooseob is slowly dying, and I'm crying inside. So...
  1. Writers! If you're big on Dooseob, and are willing to work with a lowly, suckish writer AKA me, message me and I'll give you the details. :D I need a partner in crime.
  2. Everyone! Prompt me. ;D One-worded prompts are perhaps best, but anything would be great! Maybe even a song to go with it ?
  3. Thank you all for reading! Do comment!! ^^
