For several years the ruling political party steered the course for the European Union, and suddenly overnight decided not to go there anymore.
Then the government said that public rallies are not the way to resolve differences. And forced government workers to participate in a pro-government rally.
Then they said that ordinary people may not self-organize and defend themselves. And filled government buildings with armed cossacks.
And now they are organizing a rally for tomorrow in order to proclaim Ukrainian unity, and forcing government workers to attend. At the same time the city is expecting the arrival of the ex-governor, who is trying to convince people to vote for the creation of an autonomous [East Ukrainian] state.
I wonder if they are just going to hand the same people a set of different posters to hold up?
