Watchmen, Guys Night, and Hillsong United.

I watched Watchmen with my brother last night and let me tell you, it was the biggest letdown EVER. I don't know anything about the Watchmen comic books (which was my first mistake) and I didn't even really know anything about the movie itself, I just thought the trailer looked really cool. I went in expecting an epic, action-packed, exciting superhero movie (something along the lines of The Dark Knight) and I got the most depressing, boringest, and longest 2 hours and 45 minutes of my life. The whole thing was just so...sad and dark and gray and...blah. Ughh, what a waste. I mean the movie itself was okay but not for a superhero movie and it was almost 3 hours on top of everything! People were literally walking out of the theater and I didn't blame them.

Before I joined the worship team, I was in a singing class to learn vocalization and such and the last class ended last saturday. Those of us who passed are graduating tomorrow (from this class alone though, this isn't part of my bachelors degree). yay! We're going to get a small break and then the second course starts.

Austin had a guys night over at his house and I decided to go at the last minute. At first it was kind of awkward because I didn't really know anyone but it got fun. We ate, hung out, watched a movie (United 93), and talked to a friend of Austin's through skype. They were all going iceblocking (when you put a towel on a block of ice and slide down a hill) but it was midnight and I called it a night. It was fun talking to Austin though, I only see him every few months. Suprisingly, I found Jordan's younger brother at the guys night. He actually knew who I was, which threw me off because we've never met. He was all "Hey, you're Hector, right?" and I was like "....yes...?" and then I realized who he was, mostly because he kind of looks like Jordan. He was pretty cool.
I want to see Hillsong United really bad!! They're touring the west coast in April and I was planning on flying out to their show in LA but tickets are SOLD OUT :(. I have family in LA who are also fans of United and they were planning to go too but none of us can go now. Those tickets flew! 2 weeks after they went on sale they were gone. It wasn't so much about seeing Hillsong United live for me, it was also about worshipping God in a place where everyone came to do the same thing and feeling his holy presence come down on everyone. I feel God's presence just when I look at their videos, now imagine feeling it live. I admire Hillsong, they're true seekers of the Lord's presence.

I've been thinking about getting baptized again. I was baptized when I was 10 because I decided to do it but I was still a kid and I didn't understand it too well. Plus, although I've technically grown up in a christian home and accepted Christ when I was 6 or something, I don't consider myself a christian since then. I consider that my christian walk started when I was 17 (a bit over 2 years ago) and really understood Jesus and his love for me and decided that I wanted to give my life over to him. So, it makes sense to me to get baptized with understanding and appreciation for Jesus Christ this time. I'll think about it some more.

I can't wait for spring break to come, I need a break from school. I really need to catch up on sleep. Anyway, see ya later.
