Okay, kids. Assignment time. ♥ This is for the English classes, not Ethics, before anyone starts wondering.
This isn't a regular homework, you get those in class, but rather a project, and consists of two parts.
1. Read any popular fiction book with a focus on vampires. The author cannot be a vampire, or a human with vampire contacts, or just about anyone who actually does know how the vampire world works. Twilight, The Little Vampire,, Anne Rice's novels, My Sister the Vampire, Dracula, whatever. It's your pick, as long as it's got vampires in it.
2. Write an essay on how the book decipts the vampire race/culture/lore. Personal opinions are fine, actual proper analysis is great. Bonus points if you can actually analyse why this book chooses to present vampires in this particular way and how and why it differs from the traditional lore and reality.
* Manga and anime are not applicable.
* Neither are Wikipedia plot summaries.
* Or movie adaptations of books.
* The essays should be at least 1,000 words in length, not including quotations from the book.
* The due date for this assignment is end of October. I'll be accepting completed essays before then, though, and marking them in the order I receive them. With this much time, nobody has any excuses not to do it.
* This essay will form 20% of your final mark, so put some thought to it, please.
