Last night I went to one of the oldest gay bars in Copenhagen, where men in their 80's were still meeting up and listening to the same old songs they listened to when they went there in the 40's, affraid of a police raid or being beeten up outside in the street, in the 70's when homosexuality was still classified as a disease in the Danish health system, when they went there in the 80's, seeing how their friends slowly died from AIDS. And those old geezers, hanging out and listening to Marlene Dietrich, was somehow very affirming. Hell; they managed to struggle through times that were harder than anything I'll ever experience myself.
Anyway, thanks for the post. Tolerance, of race, disabilities, sexualities or whatever is always a nice thing to come across.
Nah; you can still be a bigot, even if you have the differences at close quarters; it just requires a bit more effort. I am, of course, glad you're not, though. :-)
