Fic: Pulse point. (Moonlight, Josef, PG-13)

Pulse point. Yes, yes it is. You knew I was going to do this. It's Moonlight fic. Is there even a community for this yet ? I may start one. Josef, and the nature of the afterlife. Huh. PG-13 for language and bikini bottoms.

So he lies on the bottom of the pool and feels instead the slight motion, the rocking sensation, the pulse that's so like ( Read more... )

Seriously. I wasn't going to watch until I saw him and Sophia Myles in a trailer. Damn it.

:flails wildly:

I love this, it's perfect. Josef's combination of paranoia and undead ennui will never get old.

Heee. *receives flailing with joy*

He really is a great character. That sharpness and his sense of humor, his concern with their secrecy and safety, it's so interesting- when he looks at the camera and tells Mick that he should kill the suspects, it's so cold and alien. Like, he's not saying it because he's evil, or he revels in killing; but because their world is to be protected.

Shiver. And, yay !

Oh my god i'mgoingtostartbabbling.

This is so amazing and perfect and exactly him, and I can't believe you've managed to capture it all (down to the eyeroll-worthy incomprehension of Mick) after just one episode: the pulse and camouflaging lilt of his dialogue (he's not just living in the 21st century, he's studied it, like a foreign language), his insuppressible sass (I can believe that that hasn't changed), and all his observations about life. Why can't the show be like this?

Underwater, he can almost feel dead.

*shivers* There's something both scary and terribly erotic about that image. Like he's imagining himself back into the womb.

I loved Josef from the minute he walked in- like I said, the only time that show felt like it was about vampires, instead of a guy dressed a vampire, was when Josef was on-screen. I think my dream job, at this point, would be to go work for Moonlight and redeem it for La Dohring. Sigh.

As always, your overwhelmingly kind response is reason enough to write. ;)

He's classic Ventrue (since I know you know the lingo). Cheerfully taking over the world.

Oh, yes ! I said above to ghostrunner7 that one of the most telling scenes to me was Josef suggesting that Mick kill the suspects, anyone who offers a threat to their way of life. His lack of concern for human life didn't strike me as joyfully evil, but simply protective of his own kind, his goals and ambition. As you say, so very Ventrue.

Hmm. He's fascinating, and I keep coming back to the why is this show not about Josef mantra.

Oooh, thank you. It's a fledgling show, I'm excited to see what they do with the character.

(Also, loving your Fables icon.)

Awesome. I love this character, and you've delved in very nicely. I really wish the show were about Josef. He's so much more interesting than Mick.
