Alone, in my house, I cannot refrain from singing little songs about the action unfolding on the television. I'm watching Together, a Taiwanese drama with Rainie Yang and Jiro Wang (
GO LOOK NOW,
I'LL WAIT) and I love how convoluted the plot becomes at times (disgraced rock star Mars falls for social-phobic landlord Momo, whose developmentally disabled swim captain best friend also loves her; there is mob debt, a pop star ex, an entire subplot about homemade noodles, another subplot about a manga character from a far-off galaxy, an English-speaking competition, bullying, failed karaoke, the insult "he's a German Shepherd," and toilet jokes. YES, EXACTLY: IT IS PRETTY MUCH PERFECT IN EVERY WAY.)
I think my favorite made-up song so far has been "Oh Girl, You Fell In the Open Toilet of Foreshadowed Love" or maybe "When Your Mom Beats Your Popstar Ass With a Wire Hanger in Public it's Okay To Cry."
Hopefully Mr. Orange will not come home during the rousing finale of "HOLD MY HAND AND SING INTO MY FACE, ZHUANG JUN NAN."
