And in further news: Chapter 4 is going swimmingly, and I believe it will be done within the next few days. This one is from Snape's point of view, and I found it strangely easy to crawl into his brain and make all the parts move. Maybe this is because I am secretly a huge curmudgeon. Also, it is such fun to write out the first real verbal back-and-forth between Snape and Hermione. I believe I've convinced them not to kill each other, but it was a near thing. Stubborn as mules, the both of them.
