(no subject)
Well,
I had a strong desire, nay a need to paint tonight. Perhaps conversations or something else brought it on, I'm not sure, that doesn't matter really. The point is I came home at 11:30 after Jessi went to sleep and made myself a cup of tea and then began to paint. For the first time I used my underpainting as my sketch. I enjoy this method thoroughly. It was much easier to make corrections directly on the paint than I ever thought it could be. From now on, no more sketches on the canvas. Perhaps I will do references sketches but no cartoon on the canvas. I just finished making corrections to the underpainting and just cleaned my wash brush so I figured it was a good time for a break. Also a good time to post. I forgot how wonderful painting is. It's 1:10 or so and I have no desire to stop now. I may have to in order to let my underpainting dry though seeing as it's oil. Anyway, I'm excited because I forgot the joy of paint on canvas.
Perhaps when it is finished I will post pics. That may be a few days, or weeks, depends on how detailed I decide to get/how many nights I have like this where I just have to paint.
